WHAT IS ATHLETES' VOICE?

Boxing New Zealand's 'Athlete Representative' acts as the Athletes' Voice to ensure that your views are represented, heard and considered within the Boxing NZ decision-making processes. BNZ athlete rep will be providing a quarterly email on subjects from well-being, and knowing your selection criteria to any performance-related issues, to name a few. Boxing New Zealand looks to have an 'Athlete Rep' that has represented NZ at the highest level being:

Commonwealth Games,
World Championships or
Olympic Games

They can help develop all boxers from the start of their career to the end, including retirement.

This position is new, and we are currently developing all our processes to make support and performance easier for all participants, from Cadet to Elite.

BOXING NEW ZEALAND'S ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVE
TROY GARTON

Troy Garton holds the role of Athlete Representative for Boxing New Zealand and serves as the Boxing representative for the NZOC. Troy is a highly accomplished New Zealand boxer who has made her mark nationally and internationally.

As a five-time New Zealand National Champion, she has proven time and time again that she has what it takes to come out on top. In addition to her national success, Troy has also represented New Zealand on the international stage and won a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. As a member of the Mayhem Boxing Team, she showcases her dedication to the sport and her desire to improve constantly.

Despite her impressive accomplishments, Troy remains grounded and focused on what matters most to her: her family. As a devoted mother and wife, she knows how to balance her love for her family with her passion for the sport.

Her inspiring story serves as a source of motivation for aspiring boxers across New Zealand, demonstrating that anything is possible in the sport of boxing with dedication and determination.
