DEVELOPMENT SQUADS
​​​​​​​INCLUSION POLICY

The following policy informs all Boxers and Coaches about squad member inclusion.

First and foremost, New Zealand National Champions and Unopposed Title Holders are automatically included. Following this, number 2s, in their respective weight and age divisions, may be invited by the Lead Coach to attend.

Any boxer outside those above can apply for consideration to also be included. However, they must adhere to the following procedure:

1. Athletes eligible/selected for Development MUST complete the following year's Registration form to be part of the Squad. 
2. Any automatic inclusions that have not completed the registration, will need to follow steps 3 onwards.
   
3. The Boxers Coach must contact the Squad Lead Coach seeking consideration for their Boxer's inclusion.
4. They must provide the Lead Coach with a copy of the Boxer's competition record.
5. Once received by the Lead Coach, the Lead will consider the Boxer's record, i.e., are they competitive compared to the records of the number 1s and 2s already included.  Once done, the Lead Coach will contact Boxing New Zealand’s Convenor of Selectors to discuss.
6. Once a decision is made (for or against inclusion), the Lead Coach will contact the Boxer’s Coach and inform them of the outcome.

AT ALL TIMES, THE LEAD COACH (ELITE, YOUTH, JUNIOR, CADET) IS THE POINT OF CONTACT.
