More than 30 boxers from Queensland for Auckland

A reminder that boxers are still required for a New Zealand-Australia tournament to be held in Auckland at the end of July.

Tournament organiser Regan Foley advises there will be more than 30 boxers from Queensland competing in the event which is scheduled for July 28-29.

Foley said he was hopeful he would have up to 90 bouts over the weekend and he was keen for participants outside the Auckland region.

This tournament is part of a new development programme for Boxing New Zealand and bouts will be in all class – junior, cadet, youth and elite (both male and female).

Foley was hopeful this tournament would be the springboard to another three or four such tournaments over the next 12 months.

The tournament will also be a forerunner to the Auckland Championships the following weekend.

You can contact Regan Foley by email at regan.foley@gmail.com or by phone on 021 525-688.

The tournament is being held at the ABA Stadium, 1 Ngahura Street, Eden Terrace, Auckland.
